Music and Innovation
From 1975, Kramer was a foundational member of Electronic Musicmobile, an electronic music touring ensemble that later evolved into the Electronic Art Ensemble. In this group, he served as musical director and primary composer, exploring new timbral and gestural languages for music. The ensemble toured extensively, performing original compositions as well as works by contemporary American composers. Kramer also played a significant role in developing music technology, co-founding the Public Access Synthesizer Studio (PASS) and Harvestworks, a not-for-profit arts organization in New York City dedicated to music technology access.
